I can't believe that it's been over a year since I've been on the TPV design team and I haven't participated in a challenge :( I saw the tic-tac-toe challenge up and decided I would play along! So I created this layout :)

The picture is of me :) on my 1st birthday, my mom had this awesome panda cake made as a smash cake for me. :) The object of the challenge is to get 3 in a row. Here is the challenge board, I chose 1. Use all the Rainbow Colors, 2. Use 2 border punches and 3. Make a layout. I totally love how it came out :)

My First Precocious Project :)

Hi there! I'm happy to share with you this fun project that I created for my first DT project at Precocious Paper! Tessa blessed me with so many yummy goodies that I just had to create something fabulous. While at the Paper Niche I saw this amazing stationery set that Natasha had created and well, I just couldn't resist making something similar!

It's this awesome little stationery box! You remove the top and this is what you find :) It's so fun! And not to mention the product was amazing to work with :)

So inside I have little pockets for cards, tags, and stamps and even made a little note pad :)

I used the sweet spots for these tags! So super cute :)

The mini cards with more sweet spots and amazing felt rose :)

And here are the cards. The one above is my favorite with the butterfly doily!

Playing at the Niche with Beatriz & Kaiser Craft

Last night at about 11:30 Beatriz (From Amazing Grace) and I started on this amazing Kaiser Craft Family Tree that we made a Valentine's Tree. We painted the wood brown and then embossed it with Bronze Metal Art thick embossing powder, and it just gave it amazing texture. The we decorated the little ovals with the amazing new Kissing Booth from Basic Grey. Here are some close ups of them!

This is the Tim Holtz bird cage that I made, thought it would be perfect hanging on our tree :)

This is another one that I made, I love the little bird, he's so friggin cute!

This one is my favorite that I made, I love how I made it like a little shadow box with the lace around the edges.

This one is fun, I used bloomers in the back as a ruffle!

Beatriz made this one, I just LOVE it! It's probably my favorite one she made!

Our beautiful creation is on display at the Paper Niche for those of you who are local in South Florida, and it's so much prettier in person!!! Can't believe I have to wait until March to play with Beatriz again! I've got a few more projects we made together I'll share later on in the week!!

If any of you happened to pick up the Cricut Home Decor magazine, you might of stumbled across something! I found out a few months ago that I was being published in this issue, the funny thing is that the pictures I took last minute of something that I had originally made for my art room and hadn't even posted on my blog before! So needless to say that I was super excited! I've submitted two things to be published, and both of them got picked!! The next one I've got coming out is in April in the Create Idea Books: Spring Mini Albums!

Look there I am!! The hardest part was trying to remember all the items that I used and the steps in doing so! I didn't think you had to be that detailed when I originally submitted! But when you get the form to send in with your items for photographing it's like 3 pages!

Here is the full shot of the banner! I miss it! It's been gone for like 6 months already! I should get it back in a month or so!!

Altered Jewlery Box & Some News!!!

I made this altered Jewelry box for my mom for Christmas! She totally loved it! It's Prima! I fell in love with this line when I was at the Niche and bought the art papers to line the trays with. The nest is Melissa Frances and is totally the perfect size for the box. Around the box is ripped and running stitches muslin that looks super cool!

Totally excited with how it turned out and so was Mom!! The box I purchased at Michael's for $7.99 with a 50% coupon, so $4... not to shabby! I have a few more projects that I need to photograph!

I'm also super excited to announce that I was selected to be on the Precocious Paper Design Team!! I'm very excited to be on the team and am so looking forward to working with some amazing products!!!

Cutest Little Kisses Gifts

I love making these every year! They make the cutest little add ons! I picked up this stamp a few years back and I just love it, it's a A Muse stamp. It's perfect for these little Hershey Kisses gift. They are so simple to make and are much more fun than cards :)

First thing you are going to need to do is cut your choice of paper, this isn't carstock, but you can totally use cardstock as well! You want to cut your paper 4" x 3" It's about an inch long for each Kiss you want to hold, mine have only 3.

The next step would be to score it every inch. Simple as that! Then after that is done you are going to put red line tape on 2 folds, the 2nd and the last.

As you can see you want to put your Kisses down on the piece with tape that's not at the end. The Red line tape holds them perfectly, you can also use Glue Dots. Then you simply fold if over and add the final touches. Here's an angle from the side so you can see how cute it canes out,

Hi there! I'm sorry that it's been so long! I've had more than I can handle going on lately! And not to mention I've got strep now too! I have been busy crafting, but they have been alot of Christmas Presents! So I cannot share them, because my mom reads my blog! LOL! But here is a little something that I made last week when I was crafting with Amy!

We made some altered canvas shadowboxes :) I had picked up a few cheap canvases from Michaels and we went to town! There are so many pretty elements! I had a lot of fun, I even went back and bought another!! Here are some close ups!

I love the colors! The whole thing was inspired by that Prima flower that is front & center! The sand and pink are such pretty combinations!

The dress form was alot of fun, I used a vintage pillow case and cut the ruffles off and used them in the layers of the skirt! Then the top is the mini bloomers! I've def. got a lot more to share after Christmas! I hope I can get some more things up in the meantime! Sorry I've been so bad!!!

Happy Halloween!! I found this cute with hat to alter for today! It's about 12" high and I had found a set of battery operated lights in orange at the thrift store about 6 months ago that I had this idea for :) It all came together so nicely! First off I had to go buy cheap Halloween paper out of the dollar bin at Target because all of my stuff is cardstock or way to thick to modge podge on a cone shape :) It was 50% off too :) I am super happy with the results and it's such a cute centerpiece on the table! Here is a close up with the lights!

I fell in love with this DCWV stack that I stumbled upon while at joann's so i paired it up with some older scraps from my stash, that's the best part about making mini albums!!! I can use scraps :)

The fun 3d embellishments are K&Co that are just perfect with the DCWV paper, well it's Halloween, it's all Orange & Black anyways!! As you can see the pockets open up to put little treasures :)

I'm sorry that I've been seriously slacking lately! It's been over 3 weeks since my last post!!! Eeek! It won't happen again! I promise! Today there was a new challenge over at SIWAS posted, new DT member Jennifer chose Taylor Swift's Fearless! So I used the lyrics in the title of this page!

The paper I'm in love with, it's the new Jillibean paper! It's fabulous!! I honestly have so much more to share with you that I made during the Paper Niche's Crop Pink last weekend, but I've got 1 1/2 hours to finish 2 more posts that I need to schedule and finish packing!!! Breast Cancer Album

Happy Sunday Everyone! I've been on this mini album kick lately and I made this one for a scrap friend of mine who lost someone close to her to breast cancer. I played with UTEE for the first time and I think I am in love. I put like 4 layers and stamped the dress form, here is a close up...

Pretty awesome seeing that it started off as a piece of cardboard! I do on the other hand have UTEE all over my table and floors!! haha! I am really happy with this album and love the fabric ties as well. The inside of the album is all pink as well! I just LOVE how the dress form came out, I'm totally in love with it!

Hello everyone! I've had so much fun playing with the flowers from More Paper Than Shoes! This spray was just amazing! I actually made a 12x12 layout, can you believe it? haha! I made this layout kind of double dipping for the challenge this week over at Scrap it With a Song! The challenge this week is to use Coldplay's "Fix You" as inspiration. First off it's one of my favorite songs, I love it :D I feel the song represents the challenges that my husband and I have overcome and are still dealing with just being married, as most of you know it's not easy. More Paper Than Shoes Guest Designer!

I was so lucky as to be selected to be a guest designer over at More Paper Than Shoes for the month of September. I received a box full of wonderfulness on Friday night after a long day at work. The flowers are just amazing. Her roses are stunning. I was immediately drawn to this red rose out of all the flowers that I received. I knew that I wanted to alter a dress form for my first project.

I covered the dress form in vintage dictionary pages and modge podge and created the skirt using Webster's Pages trim I picked up at the Paper Niche. Anna had sent me the crocheted trim and I had the gray rick-rack in my stash. I knew I wanted to use the red flower, but it was missing something, so I used a vintage mini cake pan I had snagged from Amy and made a stand for the dress form, which gave me so much more room to embellish :D

I'm totally in awe and love at the same time with her roses, they are just amazing. I have to make a few layouts as well with some of the flowers, but I have all these ideas for altered goodies instead, maybe only one layout!! I have so many more goodies that the Amazing Anna sent me from More Paper Than Shoes!

I'm finally in a scrappy mood! Yay! Thanks to the Paper Niche of course seeing that I got all the new totally yummy My Mind's Eye and Bo Bunny Papers! And not to mention all the Prima flowers were ummm.... 1/2 price. Swoon, don't tell my husband! So I created this layout tonight for the Sketchy Thursday Challenge going on right now. It was a fun sketch to play with and I totally copied everyone's paper punched ruffle, totally love the look. I've got to go pack and get the 12x12 papers, I only purchased the 6x6 pads because I scrap 8x8 (Yes this is an 8x8 page!) and the 6x6 work great. But there are just some of them I LOVE.

I'm totally excited about all the new product coming out. I've got these on the MUST HAVE NOW list :D I can't wait they are so awesome :D

My Weekend with Amazing Grace

This past weekend I got to spend it crafting with my very sweet friend Bea from Amazing Grace. We had such a great time playing until all hours of the night. It was her birthday weekend! Here's a picture of the two of us!

We had some, well ALOT of cupcakes for her birthday! She's holding my latest creation, "Rum in da coconut" they were sooo good. Here's a close up for your tastebuds to get all jealous!

I was so not in the mood to make layouts so we were trying to find stuff to do to keep us away from the cupcakes! So we made some fun hearts out of chipboard! Here's one that I did!

I was playing with the Once Upon a Springtime Graphic 45 papers all weekend long! We painted, stamped, embossed, modge podged, crackled, and so much more to chipboard! Def. got dirty!! There are a bunch more of my hearts over on her blog, so make sure you go check them out!

Busy Weekend!!!

Hello! I'm exhausted, sleepy and ready for bed, but I can't help but enjoy this peace & quiet!!! This weekend was insane! I had 2 large cupcake orders & 2 charity events along with my daughter's birthday party! It's a good thing I was off work, or I would of gone mad! I wanted to share with you a little of what I did this weekend!

My bestie is in town and helped me make all the toppers, without her it would of been hard to get them all done!

More of the display! It was so hot out that my beautiful cake pops melted and fell off of the stick! So I didn't get a picture of them!

The goodie bags! Julia helped me with them, but I think the flags turned out cute for them!!

And the very sunburnt birthday girl, I screened her up all day long! She was in the pool from 9am-4pm!! I wish she would let me cut her bangs! She's growing them out!

This is us celebrating her birthday and 2 other July babies birthday at the local women & children's shelter! I feel it's important for her to appreciate all that she has in life and the blessings that we all have and the importance of giving back. I think there is no better lesson in life. We love spending time at the BOC.

A cupcake tower for a baby shower this weekend! The cupcakes in the background was the invitation and I designed the 3 cupcakes to match the invite!

Sketches in Thyme New Challenge!

hello! my mom just flew out today and i had a great, but too short visit with her! She went home with 2 projects to make me! A new cupcake apron and an awesome quilt :D I'm excited to see them both when she's done!! For this sketch challenge I mirrored the sketch! My mom is going through a lot of positive changes in her life right now & I'm very proud of her. I actually made her this layout to remind her that "It all started with Change." Both of my parents were actually engaged to other people when they met. My dad came into the drug store where my mom worked and asked her for change so he could use the payphone, my mom joked with him and told him that he'd have to buy something! So he did! And then he ended up walking her home from work as well! And the rest is history! I love that story!! :D I hope you'll go play along with us at SIT, you have 3 weeks to get your challenges in, so there is really no excuse :D Here's the sketch!

Last Challenge with TPV!

My 6 wonderful months of being with The Paper Variety are officially up after this post. So sad! For this week's challenge it is a sketch challenge! And it's a fun one too!

I actually pulled out my cricut and used it for something other than cupcakes! I'm so proud of myself! I cut the scalloped circles from the cindy loo cartridge and layered them with some branches I cut out with the same cartridge! I hand cut the tree trunks, inked them & then outlined them! I am so happy with the outcome of them! I used K&co papers from a new stacked that I picked up. Most of their paper I use for my altered projects, but I don't really scrap with it. All the papers are K&Co! Here is the sketch for the challenge!

I tried to stay as close as I could, but had a little fun with some of my changes! This week you all are playing for the new Artful Delight kit from July which is packed full of goodies!!! As you can see from the picture :D

Happy Monday Everyone! It's time for a new challenge over at Scrap it With a Song! I don't know what we were thinking when we chose this next song, but it's Poker Face, by Lady Gaga! I sat down to work on this layout tonight, and I had something else totally planned for it, but I had a scrap therapy session. Father's day is hard for me, my dad was my favorite person in my whole wide world for 25 years and I miss him so much. At dinner last night seeing how Julia reacted playing with my brothers and my Father-in-Law I was really sad knowing that she will never have that relationship with my dad because she was only 2 when he passed away and that frankly just sucks. So that's where this layout took me, it's not as fancy as my others, but it truly speaks from my heart and that's more precious than flowers and ribbons.

This week's challenge over at The Paper Variety is a Tutti Frutti Challenge! Include a fruit on your paper project! Sounds easy enough, right? Well not if you are me who created 4 projects before I was satisfied enough!!! haha! So I have an apple gift box, couple of strawberry cards & this! I used some vintage patches I was saving, I scrap 8x8 so the strawberry is BIG but not massive big, lol. Some gingham seambinding I sewed around kraft to make a frame and some new Martha Stewart tape for accents! Very fun & fruity 80's feel :D Oh and that's ME with Strawberry Shortcake!!!

Strawberry Cheesecake Cupcakes.

Hi there! Tonight I experimented with a cupcake idea that I had. They are very good, but just not cheesecake enough. I baked cream cheese in with the cake and then I used a Jello pudding cheesecake to fill it. I'm thinking that I need to go with something else. Does anyone have any good cheesecake filing recipes that they can recommend?

Well as clean as it can be at least! I've been working hard hard hard! for the past 5 hours and it's almost 2am! But I'm so proud because it's finally done!!!

It doesn't even look clean in the pictures! I'm gonna cry!!! haha! Well here's my crafty space! I've been working so hard all weekend long cleaning & organizing the house! My hubs and my daughter have been out of town so I've had no distractions! And well, nobody telling me to go to bed! hehe! Happy Memorial Day everyone & just remember what the day is all about!

The journaling is about the wooden doll cradle that my dad & uncle had made me. My mom sold it at a garage sale without my knowledge and I was crushed. I was saving it for when I had kids, I hope whoever has it in Port Neches, Texas loves it as much as I did!

The Paper Variety Star Challenge!

Hello Everyone! It's time for another awesome TPV challenge! It's my week on the DT to play! The challenge is to use a star in your project! So your options are unlimited! I wanted to make a card for my hubby that wasn't super cute or girly! I started with some of the Fancy Pants Love Letter paper and used my Distress Ink in Fired Brick to color it red, also used a charcoal around the edges. The stars paper is OA from the 5 & Dime line, as well as the Lucky card. Maya road tickets and that big chipboard star has been in my collection for probably 5 years I bought it on sale at Target, lol. I love the way it all came together. I added the paper clips to balance out the foil on the sticker. I look forward to seeing your projects!

My hubby and I are big fans of the TV Show Mike & Molly and think that Billy Gardell is awesome, well look who I got to meet! He was at the Hollywood Improv and I just had to go!! We sat right up front too :D Afterwards we met him took some pictures and got a DVD signed. It was super cool! Of course this picture is literally at 1am and not to mention it was HOT. hehe! We had a great night. Here's a picture of me and my silly hubby... he's a cutie too!

That's all I have to share for now, I'm still excited I got to meet him! I get to meet sports stars all the time, but never anyone I actually like! LOL!

The Paper Variety Mist, Ink or Paint!

Hi there everyone! It's time for another awesome challenge over at The Paper Variety! Yay! For this one, it's time to get your fingers dirty!! You have to use mists, inks or paint on your project. You can do all 3 or just one, on my project I misted and then inked! :) Make sure to get your entry linked up by Sunday night if you would like to have the chance of being featured or by next Tuesday if you'd like the chance to win!

Here's my take on the Challenge. I used a large stencil to created the patterned background, I then chalked around the edges with pink ink. The picture of my brother has always cracked me up.. I wish the sticker would of said "Soooooo Charming" I'm sorry the photograph isn't the best on this one, but I've been out of town camping with my daughter and then I've been stuck at work until after dark! It's my off week over at TPV, but I LOVE Polka Dots!! This is just a bright, fun and funky layout that I made of my silly daughter! The precious pink polka dot paper is from Pretty Little Studio, Polaroid stamp & banner (Thanks Heather!!) is from Lawn Fawn, also some Sassafrass and other fun stuff! I made this a few weeks ago cropping at The Paper Niche with my girls, this is pretty much all I did in about 6 hours!!! LOL more work and less blab!

I love a great sketch and I have really enjoyed participating in the Sketches in Thyme challenges, so I figured I'd try out for the design team. Seeing I've been in a scrap funk I have been putting off my submission! haha! I think I've done this sketch 4 times now! I picked up the new Webster's Pages paper at the Paper Niche along with the awesome blue trim and the new Kaiser flowers. The pictures I snagged from my mom's house along with the buttons (ssshhh!) and I wanted to make her something for my parent's anniversary. Ever since my dad passed away I always make it a point to get her something or make her something because I know it's a hard day for her! I guess it already "wedding themed, something blue, something old, something borrowed (lol her pictures & buttons!!)" So I'm very happy with the outcome. Here's the sketch...

Happy Wednesday everyone! And Happy Birthday to Suzy!! It's my week again over at The Paper Variety & this is a fun challenge!! You have to incorporate a number on your project! That's it! How fun is that? Here's what I created...

While I was up visiting my mom I found my dad's stash of pictures and had so much fun going through it!!! I found this awesome picture of my first day of preschool! It wasn't a Polaroid, that's just my amazing lawn fawn stamp! I distressed it of course to match the feel of the page! I used my favorite sassafras paper that I had been saving. You really can't see the dimension, but I'll take another shot!

Where have I been???

I've been "out of it" lately! In a total scrap funk & everything I do looks stupid I feel!! So I've been keeping busy! Here's a look at what I've been doing for the past 2 weeks or so!!

I've been making lots of cupcakes!!! These are just 4 of the dozens & dozens of cupcakes I've been making!! It seems like everyone has a birthday right now! These are the 4 I made today for my hubby to take into work tomorrow for his birthday! I've made quite a few lately!! I should have a break after easter until June :D on the cupcakes! (unless I get a lot of orders!!)

I hung out with Mr. Fancy Pants for a few hours Friday night! Totally bummed I couldn't crop, but had to rush home because I was throwing my hubby his 31st birthday party & had to cook! LOL! He is a RIOT for those of you who have never met him!! Not to mention he taught my daughter new words!! @@ Love ya Dan!

And let's not forget about the Kangaroo Habitat we had to build as well! My daughter is so awesome. She only burnt me once with the hot glue gun! She did an amazing job picking out the supplies for the project as well as gluing it all in! Her dad & her made the kangaroo while I was at work on Saturday! Totally impressed with my 7.5yr old!!!

I have 2 very different layouts for you tonight! I usually scrap similar in a night, but not sure what happened tonight. lol. The first one is the current challenge sketch over at the design dollies, it's the first time playing with them over there! so that's exciting! here is the sketch:

For the next challenge it's my first time also playing along with The Studio Challenges. I scrapped Julia's school picture from this year! Hey why not :D Don't you just LOVE school pictures... This one is probably the best out of the previous years! lol! Cheezy smiles not wanting to show her missing teeth, to cute. Here is the sketch for the challenge, the extra kicker is that you had to include a ruffle.

I'm heading up to my Mom's tomorrow and she loves my altered pieces, she usually swipes a few when she's visiting. So I started making her altered Bird Houses I pick up at Michaels for a few bucks, I think I paid $2 for this one. Painted it khaki and crackled it with delta crackle & antique white (I love tim, but just regular crackle paint works so much better for me). I used Crate Paper Recollections scraps I had laying around some vintage buttons, thread and lots of flowers. The butterfly charms are new from Bo Bunny. Here are a few more shots of it.

It's that time again! Time for another Paper Variety challenge! It seems like everyone has been under the weather lately, so with cold/flu season let's make some cards! Or a layout about being sick, hospital stay or recovery... or you could do something like a did!

A little bucket and card! This little bucket can hold travel size toiletries to bring someone who is staying in the hospital... I spent a week in the hospital with my mom, and I know how terrible the shampoo & tooth paste is! LOL! So I thought this would of been perfect, it's BRIGHT & CHEERY and not to mention PRACTICAL :D and they can reuse it when they are all better to hold all sorts of pretties!

I picked up this fabulous 6.5" x 6.5" shadowbox at Ikea & have had it to the side trying to figure out what I wanted to do with it. Well I decided to make a little monochromatic box of happiness & yellow! Now I want to go get more & make other colors to go with it!! This is also my first Tri-Fold card that I've ever made! Once I figured out how to fold it I was good! I think I love it more than he will :D I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day! I've had this canvas sitting around not sure what I was going to do with it, it's an 11x14. These are a few of my favortie things challenge blog is having a favorite quote challenge this week! This is my favorite quote & it's by Eleanor Roosevelt. Not my colors, but I made it for Julia's room & she loves it! I am super happy with how it turned out, too bad the texture can't really be seen as much as I'd like it to. The Paper Variety - Pink, Black and/or White Challenge

Oh what fun I had with this one! I must of spent hours trying to figure out what I was going to make! I have a stack of Pink, Black & White layouts, cards & projects...but there is something I just cannot get enough of with this one! We literally drove to DC to visit my dad's grave in Arlington, but the whole time we were at the DC Metro zoo trying to see the pandas they were all sleeping!! So I kept saying to my hubby that we drove all this way to see sleeping pandas! I LOVE pandas! They are my favorite! The big panda is from the create a critter cartridge, and he's my favorite! I have a big one just like him on the wall in my scrap room! The panda stickers I ordered from Japan! And the cute little panda, well I made her about 8 years ago :)

Tonight I had a little fun playing with my new Pretty Little Studio products I just got from the Love Notes collection. I had purchased these 6"x4" kraft envelopes from the jewelry supply store when I was picking a few things up for the store and they are all discolored and wonderfully old looking and the guy sold me a box of 500 for $5. Not sure what I'm gonna do with 500, but with 5 I made these :D I'm going to put little candy goodies in them as soon as I can purchased pretty Valentine's candy! If you haven't checked out Pretty Little Studio you should, the product is awesome especially if you are like me and scrap 8x8.

Just the other morning I stopped and took a moment in the crazy morning rush to get out of the house as I saw my baby girl brushing her hair and putting her matching earrings in for the day, and I thought to myself, where did my little baby girl go? Tonight I worked on this layout for the Creative Scrappers Challenge. I finally got to play with the Sassafras Indie Girl papers I've been saving for the right layout. Here's the challenge sketch. Seeing I was so busy & unable to post much of the month of December, I figured I'd do one big post and show you what I worked on in between the chaos of the Holidays!

I just can't get enough of this picture, I love it. The white paper in the background I picked up when I was at Pearl last week with Amy. It's just amazing. The flower I made also with some handmade paper I got there, painted the pink layers with Glimmer Glam and then the edges with Stickles.

This is just a girly layout that I was messing around with, not sold on it, but it's cute.

I love this one! I mean what's not to love about my 2 favorite people and October Afternoon?

This one is my 2 brothers with me & Julia.. my poor husband was trying to get a good picture of us, and we all kept goofing off. Paper is Pretty Little Studio & OA wild card.

My hubby took this picture one day while I was at work for a Mother's Day card he had made for me. I knew something was up because he had gone through all my stuff to find stuff to make it :D But I love the picture... She was playing in her room in just her undies. Background paper is Pretty Little Studio.

I'm still working on this, but taking a break from it... it's driving me nuts! This is OA Modern Homemaker.

And finally, my attempt at making a rolled paper flower! haha! I can't wait to get my hands on the Imaginsce tool the Petal roller... I haven't seen it yet locally I might just have to order it online. Paper is Pretty Little Studio.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much! It's been insane of course! Between getting all my gifts finished and my shopping done and all the baking, phew I still have to work 48+ a week! I haven't been doing much scrapping, but I did create this frame for my boss who loves to read. I'm totally loving the whole book pages blooms, I hope she likes it! I'm working the next 9 days straight, so I probably won't be on much! But just incase I hope everyone has a wonderful christmas!

Scrap it With a Song (Just the Way You Are)

Hi there! It's been a long week! Sorry I haven't posted all week! I just whipped up this layout tonight while my hubby and I were talking for the Scrap it With a Song challenge this week of the Bruno Mars song "Just the way you are." I love that song, and I'm always singing it to Julia so it was perfect. It's pretty much all OA paper except the Bazzill green. I'm loving the mixed font look lately! I also purchased the Bazzill In Stitch 8" circle template over at the Scrapbook Cottage and wanted to try it out! I've got a busy week ahead of me & a lot of Holiday shopping to finish! eeek! It's 2FER-TUESDAY! The layout above is my take on the sketch below! It's for Sassy Lil' Sketches & Sketches in Thyme current challenges. The paper is OA Campfire I picked up today at the Paper Niche & the stickers are also OA Schoolhouse. As you can tell my little brother has been on my mind a lot lately and there isn't much that I can do for him now, he's got to figure it out on his own. My daughter reminds me a lot of him at times, they are both way to smart for their own good, stubborn as all and very strong willed. They were both the same age when they "ran-away" from home and they are both very needy as well. I just hope that she makes better life choices for herself.

The Sketches in Thyme Mavens have a challenge going where you can enter up to 3 layouts that you followed a sketch on, This one happens to be a Sketch that I came up with one day & then created this layout :D So I am entering this one too!

Book Pages Frame

I ran across this idea on the ACOT webpage and thought it was awesome, they used it to make a Holiday wreath, but I thought that it would be perfect for a teacher's gift. I bought a 5x7 frame at the dollar store that was ugly as ugly could be, picked up an old book at the thrift store for $.50 and punched about 200 circles to make all the blooms. The flowers are Prima that I picked up at Michael's 40% off. So all in all, a really great, inexpensive gift seeing everything else I already had :D I'm getting there with the handmade gifts :D I'm actually loving it! I hope everyone has a great (what's left of it) weekend!!

Christmas Ornament Gifts :D

I love making homemade gifts for the holidays, I usually bake up a storm, making cinnamon oatmeal cookies, snickerdoodles, cupcakes and fancy chocolate covered pretzel rods and a few more depending on time! I also love making ornaments, cards, etc to give with the baked goods. I'm sure like most of you everything this season is being done on a budget! I started picking up my baking supplies as the grocery stores had them on sale over the past month and I'm pretty much all stocked up for 1/2 the price I usually spend! I also wanted to share with you these super cute ornaments that I made! I made 12 ornaments for UNDER $5! Here's the shopping list!

2 Packages of Rattan Balls from the Dollar Tree - $2
2 Picks of Holly I purchased at ACMoore on Sale - $.59
1 Roll of Holiday Ribbon I got at Michaels - $1.00
1 Sheet of festive holiday paper - $.80

I took some burplap string and tied it to the ball to make a hanger. Then I made a bow and glued it to the top, snipped off a bit of holly and glued it into the ball. I then printed on my computer the "Merry Christmas" and punched it out with my 1/2" punch pop dotted it over a 1" scallop I punched out of the Holiday paper and hot glued it right on the ball! So that's 12 ornaments for under $5!

What are some of the ideas that you all are working on for the holidays? I also created a cute and simple package embellishment to hang of presents and bags to give it that special touch. I made 48 of these for a little over $3. I purchased the evergreen pipe cleaners at the dollar store a package of 12 for $1. You cut the greens in half and then twist the ends together making a little wreath, and similar to the ornament the "Happy Holidays" scalloped circle. I also purchased some thin braided holiday ribbon at Michaels and used about 1/2 of it for the 48 wreaths making the ties on the top. I have no idea what I'm gonna do with 48, but I'll figure it out! Haha!

Christmas Presents :D

I've been having fun working on my christmas presents for this year. I can safely post this one because she never visits my blog :D This is a tote bag that I picked up for $5.49 for 3 at Joanns. I glimmer misted and made some ribbon flowers to embellish. I also made the cutest ornaments today I'll share later in the week! I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Paper: Pretty Little Studio and October Afternoon

I love this picture of the brat, she's so beautiful. I like how the vintage fashionista sticker has ABC on it too :D Totally loving making my own flowers!

Secondly: Sketches in Thyme Challenge: Sketch Challenge

I have this Bo Bunny Dot addiction. I made this with my Bo Bunny scraps :D Every little piece I save. Alot of doodling. Background is hand drawn and a little bit of stamping. I think it's simple, yet cute!

Last but not least: The Paper Variety Challenge: Sketch Challenge

I have fallen in love with Pretty Little Studio paper! The swiss dots and the blue stripes is PLS paper. I had some Girl Scout rub-ons to add a GS flare. And of course the pins & bowling ball are Jolees. This one I made for Julia's Girl Scout Album!
